Yellow tau kwa has an orangey yellow colour and is extra firm, giving it a chewy meat like texture. Hence, it is ideal to be used in place of meat in vegetarian dishes. This recipe uses yellow tau kwa and Chinese chives to create a simple yet delicious and healthy dish.
Preparation: 5 mins, Cooking time: 5 mins
Ingredients (serves 2)
- 150g Chinese chive, cut into 5cm length
- 1 (110g) yellow tau kwa, cut into strips
- 2 slices ginger, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Heat oil in wok and stir-fry ginger until fragrant.
- Add in yellow tau kwa and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- Add in Chinese chive and stir-fry for 1 minute. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Garnish with cut chilli (if desired) and serve hot.
